Assumption Church
Heritage Site

Assumption Church was declared a heritage site on September 13, 1983. We formed our restoration committee in 1998.

The Architectural Heritage Society of Saskatchewan has recognized the efforts of owners, architects and contractors to preserve the province's built heritage through an awards program that began in 1996. There are now 8 award categories.

In 2009 the Heritage Society introduced the "Long-Term Stewardship of a Heritage Property" as a category and Assumption Church was the first recipient.

The Lieutenant-Governor Dr. Gordon L. Barnhart bestowed the award to members of the Restoration Committee at a special ceremony in September at Government House in Regina.
